Different from the typical, more general job matching services that use resumes and job descriptions to create matches, NIICA's National Talent Hub uses a dynamic database of required job competencies that is continually informed by industry to provide insights into the degree of alignment between individuals, careers and course curriculum to put the jobseeker in the driver’s seat.

Individuals develop life-long learning profiles that are informed by past experiences, courses they take and jobs they hold, enabling them to map out career and education pathways like never before.

The system is the only nationally integrated infrastructure of its type designed to broaden the talent pipeline by leveling the playing field for all by improving access for underrepresented populations.

NIICA's Growing Apprenticeships in Nanotechnology and Semiconductors program, or “GAINS”, is a US Department of Labor funded program that takes a competency based vs. hours based approach in a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) designed to meet the unique needs of the tech sector and more cost effectively and efficiently targeting training to meet required job proficiencies.

NIICA is the only organization with a comprehensive approach and infrastructure that is designed to support RAPs for the semiconductor and nanotechnology sectors and broaden the pipeline by creating access to underrepresented populations.

NIICA has established its Semiconductor and Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program (SAM-TAP), executing on its mission as a U.S. Department of Labor national intermediary to establish and expand the talent pipeline for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing through Registered Apprenticeships (RAs).

The initiative is designed to support and collaborate with state apprenticeship offices and commerce departments to provide states, employers, and training providers Intermediary services free of charge to develop innovative, competency-based Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs).
